I, Ben Holm, do solemnly offer these my responses to The Road to Lisp Survey:
When did you first try Lisp seriously, and which Lisp family member was it? I started learning Lisp about a year ago (not counting a little time in school about ten years ago). I was studying Ruby and kept hearing how much Ruby owed to Lisp, so I figured I better go study Lisp. It was love at first LoC. I've been using and studying Lisp since, and I'm trying to sneak it into work now.
What led you to try Lisp?
As I mentioned, Ruby was what finally pushed me that way, but I'd been using C++ templates for a while. I liked them a lot, and I knew that Lisp had a hand in their creation too. What other languages have you been using most?
10 years C++ programming when I started Lisp. I dabbled in other things for fun. How far have you gotten in your study of Lisp?
I know this is hard to quantify. Just wing it.
What do you think of Lisp so far?
It's just so dang pretty.
