I, KevinZzz, do solemnly offer these my responses to The Road to Lisp Survey:
When did you first try Lisp seriously, and which Lisp family member was it?
I've just passed any spare hour I've had over the past week (mid Nov' '06) learning the key basics of Common Lisp... building on vague memories of AutoLisp from years earlier (I found that AutoLisp was rejected by many CAD guys who were all the yadayada w/ the VB), I sought out a guide I liked 'the look of' & went w/ this while using Lisp-in-a-Box...What led you to try Lisp?
I wanted to see this whole 'CL changes the way you see things' for myself.. just saw a YouTube of Seibel, but most of all saw references about speed of code-writing rising..
What other languages have you been using most?
I know a fair amount of C (years old), Java (which I dislike), BeanShell (which I used for coding a Math' 'trajectory/curve' script for Art of Illusion (www.artofillusion.org)), Perl (which I like a lot)...How far have you gotten in your study of Lisp?
Elementary, I can read many examples..I am reading S & am writing notes as I go along (see the first notes @ b is cu it s)..What do you think of Lisp so far?
It's that 'Lisp "high"'....
