I, Paul Clevett, do solemnly offer these my responses to The Road to Lisp Survey:
When did you first try Lisp seriously, and which Lisp family member was it?
Well I started with SBCL when a client of mine decided that they wanted us to develop in Lisp.
Many of us had multiple run-ins with Lisp before it "stuck". The "stick" date is of most interest, but you can share earlier encounters if you like.
What led you to try Lisp?
A commercial requirement. What other languages have you been using most?
Microsoft ASP/ASP.NET PHP VB.net VB6 SQL serverHow far have you gotten in your study of Lisp?
All I write is Lisp now except the odd bit of stuff to keep my previous clients.
What do you think of Lisp so far?
Well, it's like this, when I started work I used to come to work with a clear goal for the day, such as, today I'll learn how to connect to a sql database, I'd do that in the first 10 minutes and then feel a bit cheated and have to think of something else to do. As we have set up a Lisp software house we are really discovering some challenges and also some great delights with Lisp.
