The eurolisp mailing list is a central mailing list for coordinating efforts of the various local Lisp user groups across Europe. The main reason why we created this list is that many subscribers to the Benelux, Cologne and Hamburg mailing lists subscribe to all three lists and started to crosspost more and more often. On the other hand, many of the international mailing lists and newsgroups are probably not interested enough in stuff that is of main concern only to Europe-based Lispers. Therefore, eurolisp is meant to serve as a middle ground between too global and too local.

Ideas what eurolisp can be used for:

  • announcing and discussing Lisp user group meetings that are taking place everywhere in Europe
  • announcing and discussing Lisp-related jobs, courses and anything else that may require face-to-face contact with Lispers 'in the neighbourhood' (as in "not more than a couple of hours by car, train or plane")
  • talking about Lisp with people you may have actually met in real life instead of just a bunch of strangers from all over the world.

[While the main language used in the mailing list is probably going to be English, there is currently no policy implemented to reject postings in any other European language. Some people have expressed their openness or even appreciation of seeing many languages being used in the mailing list in the future, while others would prefer to keep discussions in English.]

You can subscribe to eurolisp and manage your account at eurolisp.
